Dear Friends of Boise Legacy Constructors Foundation,
I am honored to address you in our annual president’s letter and grateful for the occasion to share with you my enthusiasm about the foundation’s many new opportunities that will enable us to continue to help to make our community a better place to live.
The foundation has certainly undergone some significant changes this year. The most impactful event is the renaming of the foundation from Washington Group Foundation to Boise Legacy Constructors Foundation. The board of directors devoted much attention to this task and after considerable deliberation, unanimously chose the new name. It is our hope that the name we selected will be recognized as a sincere effort to capture the pioneering spirit and intent of the foundation’s many donors as well as being inclusive of those with new ties to the foundation through the evolution of company acquisitions
Another significant change is our relocation. As a stand-alone non-profit corporation, we will continue to sustain the original mission statement of assisting individuals and families in need with our focus on independence and confidence-building, so they can return to self-sufficiency with a sense of dignity and promise. Although this change clearly comes with some minor challenges as we no longer receive any corporate financial support, we view this as a tremendous opportunity to focus our efforts appropriately and direct our resources towards enhancing the lives of all residents in Boise/Treasure Valley. In view of our nation’s current challenging economy, we are especially grateful for the ability to meet the ever increasing needs of our community for this type of service.
Our board has reaffirmed our Bylaws and thus our pledge that applicants for foundation grants will be met with professionalism and compassion and the foundation will continue to operate with the same high-level of efficiency and integrity that our community partners have come to expect over the many years. We acknowledge that we can only adequately carry out the mission of the Foundation by forming successful partnerships with reputable, local non-profit organizations who share our vision of administering programs and services that address the necessities our applicants require. We will entertain grant requests from 501(c)3 qualified organizations by invitation.
With so many past charitable accomplishments to be proud of, we plan a bright future and are pleased that you are interested in following our charitable activities as we reach our fundraising and grant making goals. I appreciate the support you may have provided to the Foundation over the past several years and invite you to join us in helping to bring about many positive changes for our community.
